The Glens Falls Ballet & Dance Center is based on the philosophy that professional standards and quality instruction should apply from the earliest dance classes. Children taught correctly from the start derive maximum benefit and pleasure from dance.

The friendly but firm discipline of the dance class fosters perseverance and develops ability to concentrate. The students' understanding of dance opens the door to a lifelong appreciation of the art.

We are dancers. Our experience has been with dance as an art. Each art has an instrument and a medium. The instrument of dance is the body, the medium is movement. It has not been our aim to evolve or discover a new method of dance training, but rather to dance significantly. To dance significantly means through the medium of discipline and by means of a sensitive strong instrument. Dance is structured movement, and structured movement is the basis for all existence.

The Glens Falls Ballet Center was founded in 1965 by Oleg Briansky. Mr. Briansky is also the Founder and Director of the Briansky Saratoga Ballet Center summer program. He has had a distinguished career as a premier dancer and choreographer and has performed with such renowned companies as the Ballet deParis, London's Festival Ballet, the Munich Opera Ballet, the Teatro Colon of Buenos Aires, and the Chicago Opera Ballet. Margo Fonteyn, Maria Tallchief, and Violette Verdy are among the many leading ballerinas he has partnered during his career.
