Jan began her teaching career as a full time dance instructor at the Arthur Murray Studios in Binghamton,NY; Indianapolis, IN; and Albany, NY. During her years with Arthur Murray's she taught private lessons, group classes, and training sessions for new instructors. Her training has taken her through the Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels of ballroom dance, in both Social and international style, and includes professional workshops in NYC, Chicago, and monthly workshops with a US Latin Champion. As an independent instructor, Jan's focus is on leading / following techniques and making Social Dance easy and enjoyable for the average person. While laughing and having fun, her students learn to use basic components as the building blocks of a good solid foundation in dance. The comprehensive syllabus follows a logical sequence of interrelated patterns and techniques that allows a student to progress at a steady pace and build to advanced amalgamations and movements.
